Apple is super comfy with Tavros in Aather! She knows if she gets worn down she can just go flop on him and he can likewise flop on her. They share similar interests and can do fun stuff together!! Even when it’s dumb silly stuff, and really he’s one of the few people she does dumb silly stuff with and it always cheers her up. She appreciates that it’s easy to talk to him and do things with him and they can occasionally judge each other but it doesn’t ruin their friendship. She can fuss at him if she feels like he needs it and he can fuss back and it’s just how they are, even if they get stubborn at each other by now they seem to know better than to push it. She is glad that he is no longer super status’d because it seemed like it was wearing on him…! And that he’s not dead, TAVROS DYING CONSTANTLY IS DISTRESSING ;^; There are a lot of things she doesn’t always get about troll society and how he thinks of things, but she always feels like she can ask if there’s something that she just Doesn’t Get (which is a lot of troll stuff lbr). He is one of her plantbuddies, I don’t think she’d know what to do without him. B-BE SAD AND ALONE, MAYBE?! She isn’t fully aware of how much she relies on him because a lot of their interactions are things she takes for granted. But he helps her to flop and vent her frustrations and also allows for plenty of positive thinking in order to push things in the right direction. Apple loves Tavros a lot ;;

In Court she is equally comfy with Valerian!! For a lot of the same reasons, I think. Just with…like, idk, caveats. She got thrown into the picture on good terms with everyone so she doesn’t have any reason to be mad or leave! And in Court she’s kind of wrapping her head around the idea of Sage is Family. But she was fully ready to quit 5ever after GM and she has not forgotten that. Nothing has blown up in Court, but she is having vague feelings that something happened while she was in the picture judging from how Dragonfly reacted when he first arrived and a few other conversations (I DON’T THINK SHE WAS TOLD ABOUT DANGERBEAR OUTRIGHT I have the memory of a sieve tho so correct me if I’m wrong). She is kind of suspicious because she knows Valerian would be willing to sweep things under the rug to keep things peaceful. BUT she also wants to keep things peaceful so she just throws herself at other things that need to be dealt with instead. She knows that if there is a day where she just wants to be a sad lump and go into the cuddlepile he will be there and it will be okay.

Tavros is really comfy with Apple. Like, best friend forever!!! Comfy with her. There's a lot of familiarity and he knows that he can flop on her like he lets her flop on him and they do a lot of silly and fun things together!! Or serious fun things, whatever. But she is one of the few people that he will really stop and listen to and think about what she has to say if he's about to do something reckless and stupid or if someone tells him to take care of himself. The only other person off of Ruby that can do that is Comet. :'D SO YOU'RE SPECIAL APPLE. But it's basically like you said, they can casually judge each other for dumb things and it doesn't ruin how close they are, and they can be fussy at each other and they are both stubborn and push but know when to stop pushing and just take it!! Whenever they get into that kind of mood. '^' If he didn't have Apple he would probably be really sad and alone and he wouldn't know what to do with himself if she weren't around because he depends on her that much and WOW I GUESS HE WAS MORE CODEPENDENT ON HER THAN I THOUGHT until I really started typing my thoughts out haha ;w;/ since I remember saying the other day that Tavros wasn't as codependent as Valerian. I was wrong.

Valerian is SO CODEPENDENT. It's comfy! But he's also scared to say a lot of his actual thoughts and some of the things that happened after Apple left because he's scared Apple would leave and!! He doesn't want Apple to leave. He was managing okay without Apple around in Deco but then the moment he saw her again ALL OF THAT CODEPENDENCY CAME BACK and now he's really scared that if he even fucks up just a little Apple will leave him forever, even with that conversation they had in Paru's one post a couple of months ago. He's sweeping things under the rug for peace and!! Because he really doesn't want Apple to leave because he's like 90% sure he would end up just going not. Getting out of bed ever again. Apple leaving him would make him really really really depressed like it did back after GM and. He doesn't know if he can do that again. He doesn't know if he can have all of those feelings again after he worked so hard to try to stop being that weepy broken kid! SO. HE WILL SWEEP EVERYTHING UNDER THE RUG FOREVER with a vague "bad things happened." And then he is content that things are peaceful and he will throw himself into taking care of animals and then cuddle with Apple whenever he wants to be a sad lump because that's just what they do.

UHH... if Kyuubey asked Apple to be a magical girl would she take it and what would her magical girl form be like :U

DEPENDS ON WHICH APPLE uh I think at this point court!Apple knows better than to trust anything coming to her with the promise of a wish, and aather!Apple had Sayaka on her team so she...realistically knows better...( '-')a That being said they could both be frustrated enough to take it depending on the situation! Aather!Apple would have a higher chance of taking it because haha what is being able to do anything anymore. And because Shirayuki's mangaka draws cute things she'd look like this all white mage'd out!! There would be lots of plant and healing symbolism in there, and she wouldn't have much offensive power at all. Strictly support/defense magical girl! So she'd need backup sob.

Uhh ANY PLANS FOR ANY OF YOUR CHARACTERS? Things you want them to do/ways you want them to grow/etc.

I want Tavros to grow into having more self-esteem. He's kind of been in a steady decline and now he's stuck in this rut that he can't get out of! So my plans are to get him to keep growing out of that. Unfortunately his memories right now don't help because lolHomestucklol with Tavros and his life is shitty and I'm stuck until the gigapause is over to see how the story ends with Tavros so! He's going to keep getting memories of him hanging out with Vriska during those three years in the timeskip and those three years of him wanting to date Vriska and being dead and all of that. '^' So. Yes. My goal and the things that I want him to do is really solidly grow out of that, which has been one of my goals since the very beginning! HE GOT HIS CONFIDENCE UP and he's good at fronting confidence now even when he's not confident but his self-esteem never really went up with it.

With Nagisa, I want her to keep growing as a person. I want her to stay resolute and I want her to stay stubborn! She is Nagisa Motomiya, one of the most reckless girls in AKB0048. She likes helping people, she wants to find a way to break the system so that she doesn't even have to consider the thought of hurting other people, she wants to be able to like nearly everyone she meets ... and this will probably come crashing down on her! But she's still Nagisa and her head is stuck in the clouds even if Chieri has to ground her. So, she's hopelessly optimistic!

REVERSE, anything you're hoping to do with your characters?

I don’t have a ton of plans for Haruki right now beyond wrapping things up with him before Jack gets in! D-doing three in aather sounds too daunting and the legacy train cut down a lot of the queue so Jack will most likely be getting in faster than expected. Haruki has kind of achieved what I set out for with him; he has a weird kind of balance in that he is ultimately willing to bus everyone for Kazuki still, but he’s retained the value for life that he lost as canon went on. He’s made friends and grown to genuinely care about people outside of Kazuki and Yuki! And he’s trying to find a way to reject his fate rather than embracing it as the best solution, because everyone died oops.

JACK IS NOT IN YET but ultimately I want him to retain the confidence he obtained in book four and then lost in book six because almost all of the side characters just lost their development in that book or got sucky endings :T IMA FIX THAT or at least keep him from bottoming out. But of course it depends on which team he ends up on because he’ll be heavily influenced by them and how they play! I am trying not to set specific plans for him because my track record with having characters gain positive things from aather is not doing so well lol.

For Apple I am just attempting to get her back on track with like. Talking and connecting to people! She has been systematically destroying all of her support systems and putting up fronts and going through the motions, which she can successfully do and be FINE even in the long run, but she will get more out of the situation if she sits down and talks to people and works through things with others. She’s mentally burned a lot of bridges and isolated herself so I am just throwing her out to see if she will click enough with someone enough to be like "hey, we should sit down and talk about how Not Okay we are and try to find a solution to that." There will be one step in the right direction and then a few days later there will be three steps back, she is all over the place... Interacting with all of the newer people helps because it gives her a mental check of not being so resigned to things, even if it results in her banging her head against a wall and not being able to change anything. I am keeping my fingers crossed for her to get something positive out of plot and maybe get something positive out of her quest for helping the Darkness’d statues.

Also in general I like it when my characters take memories with other people so I want to do that more with all of them!!
