DECO AND AATHER RELATIONSHIP

DIDN'T I ALREADY DO THIS A LITTLE WHILE AGO i forget I will do it again

For Deco she loves Coco lotssss, she is a precious friend that Shirayuki wants to support and protect! She trusts her completely and kind of wants to find ways to spoil her rotten like she tries to do with Jackal, I KNOW THIS PLACE SUCKS BUT BE SAFE AND HAPPY. She feels comfortable enough to go flop in Teal when she doesn't want to be anywhere else, and they're able to find nice things to do even when things suck.

For Aather she is now her teammate and I don't think they're threaded much past that so it's still kind of just "Berry is back and Berry is on my team '^'" She's really really really happy Berry is out and okay but she's mostly been giving her space to go do her own thing and settle back in, since it's only been a few days. She figures it's better to let Berry go at her own pace so even though Apple is really happy and wants to do things with Berry all the time, she's letting it go and letting her spend time with Kit and Coral.

Coco loev Shirayuki a lot. A LOT A LOT A LOT SHE HAS A TON OF SHIRAYUKI DERE .///. A-And kind of a crush after that whole heart game fiasco, oops, but she is ruthlessly repressing that because the only one she wants to crush on is Kaito. SHE ACTUALLY . . . really kind of looks up to Shirayuki? This person is strong and amazing and so firm in her convictions /// I WISH I COULD BE LIKE THAT. She could have been, if it weren't for the role she needs to play for Teal and the promise she made to Kaito. So it's . . . mm, kind of complicated sometimes in that Coco really wants to agree with Shirayuki's ideals, but she can't and it makes her sad and kind of awkward.

Berry thinks of Apple as family. '-' That. That is the best way to sum it up, legit. BESTEST LADYBRO DERE FOREVER. Admittedly she has been glad for the space, but she is also at that point where she kind of wants to tug on Apple and say hey '-' hey let's go do things '-' play with meeee. WE NEED TO THREAD MORE a-as soon as I stop being a flake sssssob.

Tell me about Apple's approach to trauma games and self-sacrifice!

I will assume you mean Sapphire Apple since she actually has varying reactions and approaches to it between games :|a Despite Sapphire's runs into traffic tendencies I don't think we've HAD a lot of games that involve self-sacrifice, or give the option of it, so whatever I say might like SUDDENLY CHANGE depending on the game situation. But with trauma games...mm, it depends on the trauma? And it depends on the self-sacrifice! Like with Mira's game there was a Martyr option which was basically needless self-sacrifice, but she and Nessa picked Adviser. ...Notably Apple was about two seconds away from getting her heart cut out from stubborn refusal to pick ANY option but yes :')b She has kind of learned that "if you want to quit games you can quit games" and "if you want to find a way around a bad option you just have to think of it!" The recent slew of games have not necessarily lived up to this, but that just increases her frustration in herself because she didn't try hard enough to find a way around it!! The helpessness and lack of agency in trauma games is what gets to her most, so she will attempt to do SOMETHING even if it's dumb and everyone's like no Apple stop don't do that. In a group setting with other Sapphires present she prefers to listen to their ideas/options before speaking because it gives her a kind of foundation for her train of thought and what the others want to do; she wants to respect their opinions, especially in tough situations. When they make a decision it's usually only because they've all come to a consensus.

She is currently more willing to take on the injury than she is to let any other team take it, if such a game were to come up! To that extent she would self-sacrifice. But she won't blindly choose that option if there is a way for no one at all to get hurt! And because Aather has a good support system of healers and people willing to care and help each other get through trauma games, she is more willing to compromise with Sapphire if they were to suggest a middle ground. Uhm, but it really does depend, because certain things make her stubbornly reject them. She tries to hold back and compromise with the others but then it all builds up and she will impulsively burst with whatever decision she's come to and no one can change her mind!! Which ties into her need to do something when there's an extreme lack of agency. Mau is very good at talking her down from that but he is Legacy now so. oops.

In the end I don't know if she has an "approach" to them because they're all so different and what she reacts strongly to depends on the situation.

Today's game was Berry's first game back with Sapphire, right? How does she...hmm I don't know the right word, deal with a team setting? How do you anticipate her dealing with team games in the future?

YES IT WAS.

Berry actually . . . does not do too well with teams! Her concept of team was broken super early by Citrine, and the trauma is something she never really recovered from. Her ideas about trauma games was also very, very heavily influenced by Three's elevator game—it was her first game ever, within a day of waking up. It taught her that KAITO HAD BEEN LYING WHEN HE SAID THERE'S ALWAYS A WAY OUT \8'D/ It also taught her that Aather has a culture of victim-blaming, and that teams cannot be relied upon to work together because it's basically throwing seven people with radically different ideologies and goals into a group! SOME SOMETIMES THOSE INDIVIDUALS WOULD RATHER MURDER EACH OTHER THAN TALK go figure.

Iiiiiiit also also wrecked her confidence when it comes to things like . . . mm, being listened to? I CAN TALK AT PEOPLE ALL I WANT BUT THEY WON'T LISTEN TO ME. '-' That kind of thing.

SO. It's going to be really interesting to see how she reacts to games where more than she and one other Sapphire are playing at a time! There are a lot of different ways it could go, and a lot of it depends on the team's approach towards and ability to compromise. Berry is more likely to go quiet and try not to PTSD than get stubborn and yell, though the latter can (and has!) happened ( . . . with Kaito), but in the end she wouldn't really feel like she can begrudge the choices that Sapphire makes. In Three's game, Drift was pretty adamant that Newbies Should Shut Up With Their Morals and as much as she bucks against that, it still kind of stuck with her. T-Though honestly Berry and morality is a thing in and of itself; SHE WOULD LOVE TO NEVER HURT ANYBODY EVER but. Kaito flips out over the possibility of her dying, and. Yeah. She doesn't want to wreck his sanity.

Tl;dr Berry in team games is pretty .-.

Talk to me about Shirayuki and pirates.

Berry can sit in the corner with Yuki while everyone else tries to break the system :(b Sapphire will love you shhhh

Shirayuki was kidnapped by pirates and they were going to sell her and this other boy that kidnapped her first to rich nobles with weird hair fetishes GROSS PIRATES ARE SUCH JERKS UGH!! Canonly she isn't really shown to have any intense dislike of pirates after that, but she also lives in a castle and does not meet pirates and pirates steal from people and kidnap people and she was pretty trauma'd after the whole affair so I imagine she doesn't care for them much. It's less that they're pirates and more that they are like slavers because they are willing to kidnap and sell people. Pirates loot things and kidnap people and although looting things is bad it's when they get down to hurting people/kidnapping people that she takes serious issue with pirates. Like if Kit's backstory had turned out to be OH ALSO I'M A PIRATE instead of a thief...she would have taken it very differently, despite the fact that she knows Kit as well as she does. I actually assume she has run into pirates beyond what we get in canon because she mentions...that there have been quite a few attempts to kidnap her. But they might not have been pirates IDK WHENEVER I GET BACKSTORY I'LL KNOW. But those memories translated over to a dislike of pirates in Aather because kidnapping people is clearly something pirates do. Hook is a pirate and he kidnapped Mau on the boat >E Also kind of killed a lot of people in traumaprom game. NONE OF HER EXPERIENCES WITH PIRATES HAVE BEEN GOOD SO PIRATES MUST BE BAD. That said she DOES kind of take it on a case by case basis, since Typhoon is a pirate but he seems pretty okay?? She's still terribly awkward around him though.

Has Berry taken her dead mom memory yet, is that going to make her sadface a lot??
