I think Apple hit 5k sometime before or after the game, and I want to do a meme too. SO ASK ME QUESTIONS AND I WILL GET TO THEM AT SOME POINT TODAY. I play Apple/Shirayuki and some dude in the queue.

Mau is basically her favorite person in all of Aather (besides Obi, but he's Obi). :x Even though he's younger, he's mature and is able to make decisions not only based off of his personal opinions, but what he thinks is logical and right. He's also one of the "older" members of Sapphire (I don't think she knows he's been there the longest?) and has a general idea of things that happened to him at home, which basically all add up to RESPECT!! She thinks of Mau as Sapphire's secret leader and Red as the figurehead that everyone thinks of as the leader. Red has the energy to motivate people into action, whereas Mau has the good decision-making skills.

But he is still also a kid and has moments of not fully understanding things (but striving to understand) and does dumb things like not sleeping when he's supposed to!! So she can allow him to make decisions when it's something important, but for everyday things she will fuss if she thinks it's necessary, because that's something she can do for him! And just in general they get along really well; she's able to have fun with him, be encouraged and supported by him, encourage and support him in return, and stand by each other when they need it.

HOW DOES MAU FEEL ABOUT APPLE...

Mau really likes Apple. She's steady and practical and kind, and he feels supported by her on a lot of levels. One in that she doesn't just brush him off as a kid, and is willing to respect his words and actions for what they are instead of colouring them with his age. He also... mmm, he doesn't like that she will brush off her own pain and smile and carry on with things, exactly, but he appreciates it. He wishes she wouldn't, and it worries him, but at the same time he respects that it's a coping mechanism she seems to need, and he can understand it. Being fussed over and mothered a little is also great for him, although it's not like he'd admit it. While he's pretty good at taking care of other people, and getting better at taking care of himself, he definitely does better when he's taken care of a little. Even tiny amounts of nurturing give huge boosts to his stability. And he feels like even though she isn't very open with her troubles, he's able to be there for her in some ways, too... which makes him happy.

How does Apple's body language change with her emotional state? What's it like when she's genuinely happy? Does it change when she's faking? What's it like when she's scared or mad?

Haha, her body language is really subtle! (At least I think it is.) She's naturally a very closed person and doesn't do a lot of physical contact in canon; the majority of the time someone else initiates contact, rather than her. I think one of the big things, in Aather, is that she'll initiate contact on occasion, things like giving people hugs! Which she only initiates with Mau and Selenia, if I recall her past threads correctly. That's not really body language though, I got off topic.

I try to show her body language through her icons when I can. When she's happy or excited about something she tends to gesture with her hands or do big smiles. She'll do much the same when she's faking, except she'll tend to fold her hands together, speak less, and have more closed-mouth smiles. Most of the time she tries to keep her body language very neutral, and only changes it up with people she's comfortable with! So if she's mad at someone on Sapphire she'll scowl or frown, but if she's mad at someone on Citrine or another team she doesn't know as well the most she'll do is lineface :| if she even does that. The exception was when Selenia gave up his love and she was really pissed at him, she just stopped smiling at him and used very neutral/flat expressions. ...And when she started yelling at Eff when they first met, but SHE WAS REALLY OFFENDED OKAY. (That was a really atypical moment, since it was right after her being Darkness'd and new teams arriving and her feeling like it was her fault they had to be brought in, so she was short on patience.)

With fear, she tries to hide that from everyone; I think the only time she even freaked out and was downright terrified was when Selenia picked her up when she was Darkness'd, because she has serious issues with being kidnapped and that's what she interpreted was happening! And she started kicking him and hitting him. :'D Most of the time if she's scared or feels threatened she'll shut down, or clench her fists and avoid eye contact, or find some way to fight back. It depends on the situation! Like with the Jabberwock game, she was terrified, but channeled her energy into talking to the people with her and completely blocking out her fear, to the point that it didn't show in her body language at all. She's still pretty much doing that, but it's mentally taxing and eventually she'll have to deal with it, but NOT IN FRONT OF ANYBODY.
